Caitlin Aleskovsky
Amore Art Owner/Founder / Lead Teacher

Ms. Aleskovsky studied visual arts at UB Kinsey/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts, BAK Middle School of the Arts, and Dreyfoos School of the Arts. In addition to teaching and managing Amore Art, she is pursuing a college degree in Human Services Therapy.

She is a mother of three children, Sean & Kristin in High School and Alexa in Elementary.

She has a passion for both helping people as well as creating art. The one complaint she has heard continuously during her children’s elementary school years was/is, we need more art! Yes, most schools have a wonderful art program as part of the curriculum, but this equates to usually 30 minutes a week.

Leslie Johnston Tuohy
Amore Art Teacher

Leslie Tuohy is the wife of Michael and proud mama of daughter Haley. Her love of art began in her early years. She loves to work with her hands in all mediums. When she lived in Houston, she sold embellished jeans, jackets, photo albums and picture frames. Once she moved back to Florida, she began painting with several mediums, doing pottery, making jewelry, doing resin pour canvas art, making charcuterie boards and trays and teaching classes in these arenas as well.

Leslie spent her summers in camp until after college because SHE LOVE CHILDREN, and is so excited to introduce your child to this program and guide them through the wonderful world of art!!!

Hope Briden
Amore Art Teacher

Hope Briden was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, and is new to the West Palm Beach area this year! Hope graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a double minor in Studio Art and Education. She received her Master’s degree in teaching in 2023 and immediately began her teaching career. Although she primarily taught English in Rhode Island, Hope incorporated as much art into her curriculum as possible and is excited to begin an art-centered career here in Florida! In her free time, Hope enjoys painting, sculpting with clay, linoleum block printing, and creating miniatures. Students will benefit from Hope’s four years of teaching experience, over a decade of camp counseling experience, and a lifetime of creativity.

Dene
Amore Art Teacher

I was born and raised in South Florida and throughout my life, I have always spent my free time crafting and learning new things. My crafting goes from wire jewelry, to costume design, to painting, to CRAFTS. My knowledge is always expanding as I ask more questions. I learn visually and physically so I can respect how other children may learn in their own ways. From a young age, I have worked children parties, festivals and theaters doing face painting and theatrical makeup. I volunteer through my church to have cookies and crafts at children hospitals as well as home renovations. If you want a memory to cherish forever, ask your children to tell you a story at bedtime. Children are a gift and art is the gift, that keeps on giving. I look forward to learning from my students as much as they learn from me.

Sophia D’Angelo
Amore Art Teacher

Sophia D’Angelo is a visual artist and designer with a BFA in Design & Visual Communications from Montclair State University. She has a passion for creativity in all forms—painting, collage, animation, and design—and loves sharing that passion with young artists. With experience teaching in classrooms, camps, and community programs, Sophia brings patience, warmth, and a love of self-expression to everything she does. Her goal is to inspire children to see the world through a creative lens and find confidence in their own imagination.

Nina Curto
Amore Art Teacher

Nina Curto graduated with her Bachelors Degree in both Art History and Psychology at Florida State University. She has been involved in the arts since a very young age, from music to mixed media. As a young South Florida resident, she participated in local events such as honor bands, solo performances, festivals, and marching band competitions as a trumpet player, and as an artist was recognized in the Martin County Fair, the Martin Arts Awards, the Marvin S. Cone Art Show, and the Scholastics Arts & Writing Show. In college, she was a proud member of the world renowned FSU Marching Chiefs and engaged in art therapy workshops to learn more about the budding field. She has experience working for programs that serve a variety of children, including summer camps, aftercare programs, mentoring programs, as well as programs that work with children with developmental disorders. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health with the University of South Florida and would love to continue expanding upon her passion for the arts and working with children, hoping to one day combine this with her growing knowledge of therapy services to practice art therapy! She is very excited to have the opportunity to help bring art into the school district she grew up in as a child and interact with children who need a creative expression outlet to decompress after their school day and maybe even find a love for art in the process.

Maya “Sunshine” Merchant
Amore Art Teacher

Maya “Sunshine” Merchant is a multimedia artist whose creativity reflects her long-time philosophy of “working with what you have.” She assembles most of her pieces little by little, rather than following a plan, using every mark as a jumping point for the next one, until the piece is complete. Since studying Animation and Dramatic Writing at SCAD, she now spends her spare time writing songs for the ukulele and experimenting with new visual techniques. Her favorite mediums are pen and ink, digital art, and printmaking. By day, she’s a preschool music teacher, and by night, she’s probably hanging out with a fat beagle named Zoey. As a teacher, her goal is to help students develop their own artistic eye in a way that they’ll enjoy in the moment and retain for the future.

Elizabeth Gelfand
Amore Art Teacher

Miss Elizabeth was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida and is a 2nd generation Florida native. After earning a BFA in Painting and MEd in Curriculum and Instruction, she went on to work as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher before shifting gears to homeschool her son and daughter. Miss Elizabeth has always enjoyed teaching children and now that her own have grown, she has more time to spend with the next generation in one of her favorite places- the studio! Miss Elizabeth currently teaches Ballet to 7-10 year olds, with a focus on learning foundational technique while having fun. She is happy to join Amore Art and bring this same focus to Drawing, Painting, and Mixed Media!

Mary Lo
Amore Art Teacher

Mary Lo received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before she decided to follow her calling: education. She went back to school and got her Master of Arts in Teaching and has spent the last three years as a science teacher in Cabarrus County. In her free time, Mary enjoys trying new things like cooking and painting classes and travelling with her fiance.

Mary’s top priority in the classroom is to create a safe and positive space for kids to express themselves. Art has always held a special place in her heart and Mary hopes to develop that love and creativity in her students.

Corey Mirsky
Amore Art Teacher

Ms. Corey is thrilled to be teaching with Amore Art program this year! With a background as an art and children’s librarian, an academic tutor with a passion for gifted enrichment, and a homeschooling mom of three, she brings a lifetime of creativity and curiosity to the classroom.

She especially loves finding art in nature — sandy beach treasures, fallen leaves, and pretty rocks have all found their way into her art projects! When she’s not creating with kids, you can find her curled up with a good book, digging in the garden, piecing together a puzzle, or soaking up the sun at the beach
